The International Understanding Seminar will be held on Friday, November 11th at Chiba Prefecture Cultural Hall to deepen Chiba Prefecture citizens’ understanding about creating a society of multicultural coexistence. The seminar will consist of two parts: a panel discussion by five people with overseas roots, and a lecture by Taro Tamura, an advocate for multiculturalism and diversity since the aftermath of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
Five residents of Chiba Prefecture with overseas roots and lecturer Taro Tamura will discuss their lives and experiences in Japan and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taro Tamura will give comments on the panel discussion and talk about creating an inclusive community and society where diverse values are recognized and everyone can flourish.
