1)Quasi-State of Emergency Extended until March 6

The duration for a quasi-state of emergency has been extended until Sunday, March 6 in Chiba Prefecture.

Please continue taking proper safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Duration: January 21, 2022 (Fri) - March 6, 2022 (Sun)

 

2) Pre-registration system for (suspected) individuals infected with COVID-19 IMABIS - Information collection Before diagnosis

For individuals getting tested for COVID-19, let us know what’s going on. 

• By providing your information to the public health center before the test results are available, they will be able to respond more smoothly in the case you test positive

• By providing emergency contact information in advance, you can feel at ease in case something happens

• You can enter your information at your own convenience, reducing the time required for the health center to call you back

Pre-registration system for (suspected) individuals infected with COVID-19 “IMABIS”

※ Must be a resident of Chiba Prefecture(excluding Chiba City, Funabashi City, and Kashiwa City)

※ Personal information collected will not be used for any other purpose, nor will it be used if the test results are negative.（Your data will automatically be deleted 30 days after being entered.)

<About the pre-registration system>

• If the public health center receives a report of an outbreak from the medical institution you visited, the staff member incharge will contact you by phone or other means to inquire about your health condition, etc., based on Article 15 of the Infectious Diseases Control Law.

• You can shorten the survey time by answering the system’s emergency contact and chronic illness information in advance.

• The survey will take about 10 minutes.

• We understand you may feel worried, but we ask for your cooperation in entering as much accurate information as possible so we can provide better support.

<Things to be aware of before your test results are given>

Refrain from nonessential outings

• Do not use public transportation

• Do not do anything that could increase the number of people with whom you have close contact, such as going out to eat

Avoid contact with your family

• Stay in separate rooms(even for meals and sleeping)

• Be taken care of by a limited number of people

• Wash your hands diligently and keep rooms ventilated

• Wear a mask even when inside your home

• Disinfect shared spaces and surfaces

• Wash dirty clothes and linens without direct contact

• Dispose of trash in a sealed container

※ Even if the results are negative, it is recommended to continue with the normal course of action while the symptoms persist.

<If you test positive>

Monitor your health condition every morning and evening

• Take and record your temperature every morning and evening

• Record whether you have taken fever reducers and other medications

Do not go outside during treatment

• The health center will call you, so please be ready to answer

<If your health suddenly deteriorates and you seek consultation>

• Contact your family doctor and medical institution you were tested at

3) Apply to be a CHI-BA+KUN Partner!

Chiba Prefecture strives towards creating a prefecture where all residents can live and work together harmoniously, regardless of nationality, language, culture, or customs. Therefore, we are looking for foreign residents to become a “CHI-BA+KUN Partner,” someone who can utilize their perspective as a foreign resident in Japan in prefectural policies, and help disseminate information in multiple languages in times of disaster.

A CHI-BA＋KUN Partner is involved in making Chiba Prefecture a comfortable place to live by presenting their opinions about prefectural policies, disseminating information about the Prefecture, and participating in various events held by the prefectural government.

For those interested in this opportunity to work with prefectural government affairs, we await your application.

【Activity Contents】

At the request of the Prefecture, members will participate in and cooperate with the following activities:

• Opinion-exchange meetings as well as questionnaires, surveys, etc.
• Cooperation with the prefectural government’s efforts in delivering important information to foreign residents in the event of a disaster
• Attend events and “monitor tours” held by the Prefecture and promote Chiba’s attractions
• Contribute other ways of helping to make Chiba Prefecture a comfortable place to live for foreign residents.

*There is no compensation for participating in these activities. However, the Prefecture will provide transportation expenses.

【Application Guidelines】

(1) Term of appointment:

April 1, 2022 - March 31, 2023

(2) Number of accepted applicants:

approximately 20

(3) Application conditions:

Those who have either legal status of residence in Japan or Japanese citizenship through naturalization who meet all the requirements listed in the following items:

1. Living, attending school or working in Chiba Prefecture

2. Must be able to communicate in Japanese

3. Have an established tool for sharing information (SNS, blog, etc.) and be able to update it in a foreign language

4. Be interested in Chiba Prefecture and creating ways to make it a more comfortable place to live for foreign residents.

(4) How to Apply

Fill out the application form (Form No. 1) in Japanese and submit it together with the following documents:

1. A photocopy of your residence card
2. A photocopy of your social media page (screenshot of your blog, Instagram feed, etc.)
