1) State of Emergency Issued

A state of emergency has been issued.

<This is a request for the residents of the Prefecture>

  • Please refrain from going outside for nonessential reasons after 8 p.m.
  • Please refrain from going to high-risk areas (※1) and making nonessential trips outside (※2) even before 8 p.m.
  • Duration: Jan. 8, 2021 (Fri) - Feb. 7, 2021 (Sun)

 

※1 What are “high-risk areas?”
  • They are areas or situations where the risk of the spread of infection is high. This includes [“5 situations” that increase the risk of infection] and the [“Three Cs” (Closed Spaces, Crowded Places, Close-Contact Settings)].
  • If you plan on leaving the Prefecture, please check the messages and the status of infection rates of the municipality of your destination.

 

※2 About nonessential outings
  • Does not apply to going to the hospital, work, or school (including cram school and extracurricular lessons)

  • Does not apply to exercising in order to maintain your health, so older people are particularly advised to keep healthy by through moderate exercise in places where there is a low risk of being infected.

  • Please carefully follow all precautions if you go out to eat.

  • Try to assess the necessity of pursuits such as returning to your hometown, sightseeing/travelling, and attending events. Moreover, please consider postponing such activities. If it is difficult to do so, implement infection prevention countermeasures when going out.

"5 situations" that increase the risk of infection
Situation 1. Social gatherings with drinking alcohol
  • Drinking alcohol improves mood and at the same time decreases attention. In addition, hearing is dulled and it leads to speaking in a louder voice.

Situation 2. Long feasts in large groups
  • Long-term meals, dinner receptions, drinking alcohol at night increases the risk of infection compared to a short meal.

Situation 3. Conversation without a mask
  • Talking at close range without a mask increases the risk of airborne or micro-droplet infection.

Situation 4. Living together in a small, limited space
  • Living together in a small, limited space increases the risk of infection because the enclosed space is shared by several people for a long time.

Situation 5. Switching locations
  • When you move to another location, such as when you take a break in a workplace, the risk of infection may increase due to the feeling of relaxation and changes of the environment.
